So, I have some pretty cool friends.
On Monday, I was invited over to my friend Aaren's house to learn how to make soap. It was actually my birthday present last year, and I finally had the time to actually make it happen. The process has become much less intimidating because I was able to watch it in action. (I'll be making my own as soon as the supplies come in).
Then, Tuesday, my Beer and Knit group had to find a new location to meet because our old location had shut down for the summer. One of the Beer and Knitters happens to work at the beautiful Adelphi hotel in Saratoga. We were able to spend the evening on the balcony knitting and enjoying wine and desserts. I didn't take any pictures of the hotel either, but I'll have to bring my camera soon.
Then, yesterday, my friend Liz asked for me to help her herd some sheep so she could check on one of the sheep's feet. I mostly just watched and lugged around some buckets of grain, but I still had an amazing time hanging out with the sheep, and cows, and rabbits, and an alpaca. Liz's kids are a-dor-able also. This time, I actually brought my camera.
Liz boards her sheep at the Foster sheep farm. Did I mention they have a yarn store?
Anyways, I mention these three events for one main reason (beyond the soapy, sheep and yarny awesomeness). When I started this blog, I had noted that I didn't have many friends who shared common interests. I can't really say that anymore. Besides the fact that I have something in common with the friends I've made, they're all incredibly awesome people. I'm so lucky to have such great friends, and I'm especially appreciative, because I remember what life was like without them.
So, in sum, yay for great friends!
